The artists attraction to clay lies within its timeless, rich history, and the materials tactile and intimate nature. Working with clay is a way of building connection and relationship with the textures of the natural world. Clay in its essence reminds her of human skin, the freshness of soil, the colours of stone and sand. The artist believes that it allows us to see and feel the imperfections within perfection, within creations, and recalls the value in surrendering the outcome of our actions to the fire, to life. Clay remains a symbol of solid foundational stability as it has witnessed numerous cultural rebirths and transforms in accordance with the needs of time and place.
